I haven’t had much time or desire for blogging lately, but here’s a couple of quickies for everyone out there:
- We should be finding out tomorrow if the shelter’s adoption committee will let us have Daisy. I don’t see why there’d be a problem, but the anticipation is terrible.
- Over at suburbanchicagophp.org, I offered up a way to prevent SQL injection attacks.
- I was lazy this past weekend, but now I have to pay for it. This is shaping up to be one busy week, both here & at work. I really, really need to do laundry tomorrow.
- I’m just not comfortable using my usual AIM buddy icon (”I do make passes…”) since I have a bespectacled new female co-worker on my buddy list. I don’t want her misinterpreting it, you know? Anyone know a good site for finding buddy icons besides deviantart?
- Now that I’m really using the EeePC, I’m on the fence about it. I love this little machine, but only after I made some tweaks to Firefox and Thunderbird to make them look better on the 480px high screen. Out of the box, it’s kind of a pain to check email & surf the web. I couldn’t imagine a non-technical person enjoying it as much as I am. Big thanks to the folks at eeeuser.com for their forums & wiki.
- I finally joined the ACM. Time to look into the local CHI (computer-human interaction) SIG and see if that’s really what I want to focus on.
That’s all I can think of that’s going on right now. Mostly, I’m living, breathing, and dreaming in code. I think tomorrow is going to have to be a “no laptops in the basement” night.
