(Netbeans.equals(molassas)) == true

I have kind of this love-hate thing going with the Java language lately. It's nice to program in, but the development environment environments SUCK. Ok, that's not fair — the development environments are fine, but you need 512MB of RAM to do any serious development. My 2.4GHz laptop with 256MB of RAM is locked solid for minutes when I click "run" in Netbeans. Just testing out a simple change takes about 10 minutes. Grrrr!

C64DTV Available!

November 25, 2004 by Dave Ross

The Commodore 64 30-in-1 Classic Plug & Play Video Game is now available from QVC…a day early! Be sure to pick up a couple, as these should prove to be fun toys to hack.

Nitty-gritty details – The DTV board is roughly the size of a playingrncard. Under what look like 3 blobs of epoxy on the board lies a customrnASIC chip at .35 microns. The 6 volts of battery power is regulated downrnto 3.3 volts on the board. Jeri emphasizes that the ASIC is veryrncompatible in terms of being a C64. The DTV is hard-coded to run at 1rnmhz.. There is 128K RAM and 2 meg of ROM. 256 colors availablernon-screen. Single SID sound with the 3 voices and "volume" mixedrnexternally. The solder pads are there on the board; in other words,rnenterprising hackers can solder on a serial port in order to connectrna Commodore-compatible drive and can attach a PC keyboard.

Slay Radio Upcoming Shows RSS Feed!

November 19, 2004 by Dave Ross

I added another new RSS feed. This time, it's a feed of upcoming shows on Slay Radio, a streaming radio station featuring remixes of Commodore game tunes. The station plays music 24/7, but they do occasionally have live shows with DJs.

The URI for this feed is http://www.csixty4.com/rss/feeds/slay_shows.xml. Like my other feeds, this one is only updated once a day at 7:00AM Central Time (GMT-6). Also, note that the show times are CET (GMT+1).
