I think I really need a life

January 31, 2005 by Dave Ross

Anyone want to join me for some late-night mailing? I want to have fun with a certain kiosk.

You see, there's one of those automated kiosk doohickeys at the local post office, which makes it really convenient for me mail off eBay packages at any time of night. I just put my package on the scale, push some buttons, swipe my card, and grab the "stamp" it prints out for my package.

The thing that gets me is how it always says it was a pleasure to help me. Really? We have machines that can feel pleasure now, eh? So my plan is to go in late at night when nobody else is around, and verbally berate the machine to see just how much of a pleasure the experience is for it. Or maybe I'll just dress up like I was going to a singles bar and try my best pickup lines…"hey baby, would you like to serve me? I'm sure you'll find it a pleasure…"

Say hello to my little friend

I added a link over to the left explaining how to add my blog to your LiveJournal friends list, but it turns out that someone already set up a "syndication account" to read my blog (I think it was Katie — thanks Katie!).

To see my blog entries in your friends list, just add the "user" csixty4
