Correction

Once again, I'm limited to port 80, so I can't get in to edit my last post. Grrr…I hated that keyboard on the kiosk. Anyway, I was standing in the DJ booth with some Chicago folks last night, and this older gentleman dances over and gives props to the DJ. After he dances away, someone comes up and mentions that the gentleman was Captain Crunch.

Take it with the obligatory grain of salt. But it just goes to show how surreal the whole weekend has been so far.

So far, the best way to describe this trip is "surreal". This whole town is fucking surreal. Everything is so…fake. On one hand, I want to retch. On the other, it's just so damn delightfully kitchy.

My Internet access has been fairly limited this weeked, which is a shame. But as I said I hope to have lots of info up when I get back. I forgot to snap a pic of the "discount" escort service ad in the phonebook. As I was saying…cheese to the max.

CommVex itself was pretty slow. There was a lot of socializing but not much else. There was one vendor yesterday, along with someone giving away a bunch of books. There were only four demos, including the release of a new C64 game (besides Metal Dust).

Last night we went over to Defcon and partied with the hackers. There's just something surreal about standing in the DJ booth dances up to the DJ and tells him how great the trance music is. BTW, I got to meet my co-worker Wendy's sweetie. Class act all the way. Big surprise he knew Eric from SWRAP.

Gotta run. Running out of time on this kiosk. By the gods, do I miss typing on my laptop. This keyboard sucks!

GeoTrope

Scott, see if you can find the trailer for Geotrope online. It's a new C64 game by Cameron Kaiser. I'd emali you, but there's some kind of firewall here that only lets port 80 through. Grrr…
