School stuff

Roosevelt finally fixed their online system for students, and I was able to verify that my final grade on my thesis was a B. I did it. I really made it.

I got my certificate from the Franklin Honors Society yesterday, and am thinking of having it framed and hung next to my diploma when that arrives.

Woohoo!

Fun with Java

If my desktop weren't made of glass, I'd be banging my head against it right now.

I've spent most of my day so far trying to figure out why a certain exception came up when I started my local copy of the app server. By tracing deep enough into the stack, I found out that the project I was working on was depending on another project, and loading things in that other project's context. But for some reason, the other project couldn't see itself unless I put a packaged copy of itself inside of it.

It kind of reminds me of those Russian "nesting dolls".

Corporate Goths

This looks like an interesting site: Corporate Goths. They also have an e-mail list I think I might subscribe myself to.

I know Scott & I have had many discussions about this kind of thing over the years. Some may see us as "sellouts", but there's nothing "un-goth" about putting on a black polo shirt to go work in an office all day. Besides, aren't we supposed to be "creatures of the night"?

And how else am I supposed to be able to afford all those vinyl clothes?
