Watching Transformers

I’m watching Transformers, and I’ve got the weirdest craving to go buy a GM product. Weird.

Update: And buy it off ebay, natch.

Update #2: Nooooooooo, they didn’t set this one up for a sequel. No way. Nope.

New MacBooks?

by Dave Ross

Rumor has it that an update to the MacBook line will be announced, possibly as early as today. Is it true? What makes you think I know?

But, I love this comment from the discussion at Digg:

I’m on the phone with apple canceling the macbook that I ordered yesterday. The end of our conversation went like this: “Apple Lady: So thank you again for calling Apple. And of course you can place a new order once the… once you’ve…. Me: Once the ultra-secret announcement has been made. Apple Lady: … Yeah.”

Back in my day…

Amy sent me this great link: ScienceBloggers Walk Down Memory Lane. It features a bunch of science bloggers and commenters talking about their memories of using their first computers.

Of course, this being Leopard Release Day, I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention folklore.org, collecting stories of people who worked on the original Macintoshes. It’s fun to read through, and many (if not all) of the stories in the book Revolution in the Valley came from there.
