John Barrowman, star of the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, says he’s sorry he flashed his genitals. One listener is upset the actor said he was going to “get it out” during an interview on BBC Radio. Barrowman says “I was wrong to do this and it will never happen again.”
Screw that. I’m thrilled to know the world is one step closer to finally seeing tits on the radio.
Ganked from Amy…Music meme: List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs. (Ignore the bit about “in your LJ” there)
- ”Tits on the Radio” (Scissor Sisters) : This band, at least on their self-titled debut, reminds me of My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult — both in musical style and lyrical content.
- “Sugar” (Ladytron) : Nothing too deep, but a catchy tune.
- “Stowaway (LP Version)” (Chris Connelly) : This track seems a out-of-place on the Black Box, a boxed set of tracks from Chicago’s premiere industrial label Wax Trax. It’s hard to describe this song…it’s like a folk track laid on top of industrial bass, keyboard, and drums. The effect is spooky at times, and beautiful all the way through. We saw him perform this song acoustically at a Thrill Kill Kult concert.
- “There’s a Moon in the Sky (Called the Moon)” (B-52s) : Like anything from the B-52s, don’t expect anything deep, just a lot of fun.
- “One Thing Leads to Another” (The Fixx) : I don’t know why, but I can’t get this 80s classic out of my head.
- “Universal Blackness” (My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult) : It’s probably not fair to include this, as I listen to it all the time. The story goes that the band was formed to make the soundtrack to a horror movie, and this song fits the bill. It goes well with the kind of stuff Count Gore de Vol shows on his podcast.
- “Ping Pong Song” (Optimus Rhyme feat. MC Frontalot) : A nerdcore rap about “sipping Perrier playing ping pong”. Who knew it would sound so good?
